Brief.
YO Residences is a premium mixed residential development designed by the world-renowned Nico van der Meulen Architects and Tristan du Plessis. Located in Broadacres, the project aims to redefine urban luxury by blending minimalistic modern design with high-end lifestyle amenities, catering to a sophisticated demographic seeking both style and functionality.
“The primary challenge was to create a high-density residential space that maintains a sense of "light and space" typically lost in apartment living. The developers needed to integrate state-of-the-art smart home technology and sustainable features (like gas and back-up power) while keeping the aesthetic clean, modern, and high-end.”
Design: Light and Space
Collaborating with Nico van der Meulen Architects to prioritize natural light through floor-to-ceiling glass and open-plan layouts. The architecture focuses on the intersection of interior and exterior living.
Smart Home Integration
Every unit was designed as a "smart-ready" ecosystem. We integrated home automation systems that allow residents to control security, lighting, and climate from their devices, ensuring the property stays future-proof.
Community-Centric Amenities
Instead of standard facilities, we designed a lifestyle hub including a high-end gym, a clubhouse with a restaurant, and dedicated green zones for children, creating a self-sustaining ecosystem for residents.
